MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!

Well, here it is, December already. Where has this year gone?

Don't you just love this season? There are so many wonderful things about Christmastime--shopping for that special gift for each person on our Christmas lists, listening to Christmas music, going to Christmas plays and concerts, planning trips to visit our families and friends...the list goes on and on.

For us, one of the special parts of this holiday season is the decorating!  There is no better time to be creative as we find special places throughout our homes to brighten it up with cherished ornaments and decorations old and new.

We have shared some of our favorite Christmas things with you in this month's edition of COZY CONVERSATION (you can get to it using the link listed above).  We had some other pictures we wanted to share with you to show you how we decorate our homes for the holidays.  We hope they make you smile!

VINTAGE ORNAMENTS
(one of our favorites)
We found a special decorating book this Christmas season. It's by Country Living and is called "Merry & Bright, 301 Festive Ideas for Celebrating Christmas."

Because we love vintage Shiny Brites, the cover of this book really caught our eye, so we set out to gather vintage bottles and more Shiny Brites to add to our collections.  We have to say, the hunt in town was a little scarce, but eBay was a great source to find lots of vintage bottles and ornaments...maybe too many to choose from, in fact!

Here's some of the collection we started to gather

and here are a few pictures showing our final collections...

A FEW MORE OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS...

This Winter angel was a find from Old Colorado City, Colorado

The script signs are keepsakes from a trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas,
the snowflakes from a past trip to Colorado

This fun little guy was a gift from the sweet ladies at
Charlie & Bella's in Marshall, Texas.
If you haven't had a chance to browse this beautiful gift shop on the Marshall square,
be sure to do so soon!

Green transferware is a favorite...along with mercury glass.
The snow-glittered bird is also from Charlie & Bella's
and the Christmas tree is a Dollar Tree find.  :0)
We LOVE good bargains that have great personality!

One of my most precious treasures are the hand-carved Santas
made by my sweet dad.  He would save our

Christmas tree trunks from each Christmas
and then set to work creating fun Santas to help us remember family Christmases past. Precious treasures.    sk

Santa, of all people, needs to keep close watch on the time!
These cranberry-filled candle sconces take center stage
on the Knight coffee table

We found the angel at Laurie Anna's Vintage Home,
a great vintage gift shop in Canton

"Brown paper packages tied up with string...

...these are a few
of our favorite things.
