HAPPY JANUARY, EVERYONE!
the perfect time for a fresh look
for your home or office!
Our client's work area wasn't as functional as it needed to be...
The conference table took up
a great portion of the room
and wasn't very functional when
gathering for meetings
Chairs in front of our client's desk were kind of
"in the way"
at the conference table
or view it from across the room
while sitting at the desk...
not quite as convenient as it needed to be.
The credenza in front of the large windows
seemed small for the space
The artwork and sconces were dated
and needed to be replaced
to allow for a more contemporary look

The only seating area in the office
was a bit intimidating.
A new, more comfortable look was in order.
THE OFFICE REDESIGN BEGINS...
We started with a fresh, clean palette of new carpeting...
The carpet's caramel color would be a
great backdrop for our new design,
great backdrop for our new design,
and the waffle weave of the carpet fabric
is both contemporary and durable.
With the addition of a new, more contemporary desk and credenza/hutch,
as well as a new ergonomically designed
executive office chair,
the transformation begins...
Another specific request of our client was that no chairs be placed directly in front of the desk, so we created two separate sitting areas within the new design... |
One in front of the large windows
to the left of the executive desk...
...and another to the right of the large room.
Next, we set out to frame the beautiful, large windows with a new contemporary bookcase to match the executive desk and hutch. The modern lines and the touches of matted silver on the drawer pulls and windows of the bookcase help bring the look together. The addition of two new, more contemporary copper lamps with caramel colored drum shades and an area rug were put in place to soften the look and lend a warm atmosphere to the sitting area...
Another request of our client was the incorporation of a new conference table. To achieve a more contemporary and comfortable look, we shopped for a round, granite-topped pedestal table to be used as the conference table and brought in four ergonomic arm chairs to surround it. The shape of the table, as well as the design of the chairs are sure to afford a more comfortable work space for meetings and conference calls.
The area within the office where our client's television was placed needed a fresh look. Previously set on a half-moon table in the corner of the room (see before picture), viewing the tv was difficult and inconvenient. We set out to find a larger piece of furniture to hold his tv, as well as afford a place for additional storage, and then placed it center stage in one of the sitting areas. Now the use of the television is more enjoyable, rather than having to watch it from across the room...
New artwork and the addition of a few carefully placed accessories finishes the look. (Our client's heirloom grandfather clock is one item that was important to fit into the design). With the removal of the old leather wing backs and the incorporation of two contemporary upholstered chairs and another copper lamp in the corner, another comfortable sitting area was created that draws your eye to the beautiful heirloom.
Keeping the theme of hunting and the love of hunting dogs within the design, new matting and framework on a personal print, as well as the addition of several new art pieces ties the look together.
